Sarah Palin against abortions

The road to success and to the office of Governor of Alaska has not been one that Sarah Palin has treaded particularly carefully. This carelessness is not in the way she carries out her duties – her skills in this regard are absolutely without question – but in the way she treats those who oppose or disagree with her. A fine example of this is the recent Troopergate controversy. Other controversies that won her as many enemies as friends include the Bridge to Nowhere project and her – unique – approach to predator control.

It is perhaps this drive and passion – and her willingness to upset people in the name of getting things right – that have won over the people of Alaska. Her approval ratings in 2007 were at the almost unheard of levels of 93% and 89%, according to two polls. Not bad at all for a moose hunting hockey mom with five children to look after.

John McCain’s selection of Sarah Palin surprised many, but it has been her exposure in the press since then that must have been the cause of much worry for him. From the early announcement about Sarah Palin’s eldest daughter’s teen pregnancy to the aforementioned Troopergate scandal, it seems that this ex-beauty queen just can’t keep out of the news.
