I mentioned back in January that DisplayLink planned on bringing their USB display technology over to the Mac. Well, it looks like they finally released their first beta driver for Mac OS X today.

The Awakening is a movie describing the process by which one goes through the process of realizing the truth about our lives in relationship with the universe. The secret to life was described in an earlier movie called “The Secret”; the Awakening movie goes on to describe how we can act on and utilize what we learned in The Secret; most importantly how can we change our thinking to effect our environment?

Any skeptics who do not follow (or do not want to follow) the reasoning behind the Law of Attraction (the fundamental principle behind both the Secret and the Awakening) should really give this movie a chance. Not only will it completely convince them of the need for an open mind, in these matters, it might even go so far as to push them to the side of the ‘believers’.

Both the Awakening DVD and the Secret are excellent introductory resources for those wanting to understand and start to harness the Law of Attraction.

Renting a movie on your Apple TV this weekend? Well, make sure that you head on over to the “Settings” menu and update the software. Apple quietly released the Apple TV 2.0.1 update this evening.

Apple’s iPhone apps SDK is finally here and judging by the community’s response to its release it was long awaited. According to Apple over 210 terabytes of bandwidth were used by over 100,000 downloads of the Apple iPhone SDK over the four days since its release. This is in addition to the 1 million views of the video of the release event. Apple has some serious fans who wants to download cool apps for iPhone.
Apple had some bandwidth issues when all of this kicked off and whilst these are allegedly all but fixed some people are still getting a 404 error; there’s a torrent of the download the iPhone SDK floating around if anyone is really desperate to get their sweaty paws on it.
Industry players have been singing the praises of the iPhone downloads in SDK: Six Apart’s CEO admitted that it’s already using it to develop a “native iPhone application for TypePad”. Just how useful the kit is remains to be seen, but we can bet that there will be some rabid fans ready to buy anything Apple and iPhone chooses to push at them.

Adobe today announced the Adobe Photoshop Express public beta, a free internet-based application that allows users to store, sort and show off digital photos.

Apple has released Security Update 2008-002 v1.1 for Leopard via Mac OS X’s Software Update utility and on the Web.

More bad news recently for CD sales: sales of music downloads are set to pass that of physical CDs by 2012.

But what’s this: bad news for paid-for music downloads. Many providers are starting to offer free music downloads and music steaming from their websites for free. We7 is a shining example of such a service: set up by Peter Gabriel in May 2007 it recently surpassed the 2million tracks mark. Two million free tracks: free of cost and free of DRM. Just free downloads and streaming.

Sony BMG recently gave We7 – and by proxy other providers of free music downloads – by sanctioning the service and proving its back catalogue for free streaming on the site. Sony’s back catalogue includes many well known contemporary artists will be a fantastic boost for We7’s already extensive catalogue.

There is some concern that all this free music will affect the sales of legal music downloads but if this is a fantastic example of market forces dictating the way the market moves: which is just as it should be.
